Acting classes are for students grades 3-12, with Grades 3-6 in one class and Grades 7-12 in another class to allow for age-appropriate material and teaching techniques. Students in grades 3-5 are highly encouraged to take at least one year of TTA prior to starting acting classes as Elementary TTA 1 is the foundation for much of our acting coursework. Class Length: 50 min. LEVEL 1 Find your voice and presence on stage! Actors develop scene work and storytelling techniques in a supportive, ensemble-focused environment. Pre-requisites: None. Students will experiment with paint techniques, sound design, and the principles of composition and balance that guide all design disciplines. Pre-requisites: None. Through guided projects, students will develop skills in hand sewing, reading and adapting patterns, and constructing small scenic, costume, sound, and prop elements. They’ll also dive deeper into lighting design, exploring how light, texture, and color shape mood and storytelling. Level 2 design students may be given the opportunity to work on professional productions throughout the year as schedules allow. Pre-requisites: Completion of Level 1 or instructor approval.

Our classes will be broken into age groups, with the instructor meeting each student where they are at and walking alongside them in their journeys. Grades 3-5 will focus on learning to carry a melody, match pitch, and explore music through fun group singing and rhythm games. Grades 6-8 & 9-12 will work on the same skills as above but add vocal placement, reading sheet music, and singing in 2-part harmony as part of their skillset. Grades 9-12 (Adv) Advanced singers develop blend, mix, and sight reading through rich 3-part (or more) harmonies, preparing them for solos, ensembles, and auditions.
